MZ-NHF800 :- experiencing problems

Hello there,

I just received a brand new MZ-NHF800. Overall I am very impressed with the player. The thing is that when I first tried the radio, it was working ok. Then the batteries got low, then it went off as I was saving a station. I didn't try it again until last night. I turned the radio on, and the display said 'Radio On', then the volume meter went down, and it turned off. When i keep tring, it says vol 0 on the display, and it just goes off. The rest of the player is ok, and the volume is ok. It briefly displays the preset I was trying to save, so I am guessing it is locking up for some reason.

Wondered if anybody at all can offer any advice? Is there a way to reset the remote, or wherever the stations are saved. Otherwise, this player is very good, and a worthy spare for the MZ-RH1 - when it arrives!

Thanks in advance. :ok:

If there is no information in the (service) manual about resetting the remote, try disconnecting the remote and removing the battery from the recorder for at least one minute, then try again.

If this doesn't help, the remote propably has some kind of internal capacitor/battery, which needs to be discharged/temporarily disconnected. Try disconnecting the remote for a day or more.

If this doesn't help, it propably needs to be disassembled/repaired by someone with experience.
