no probs atrain... as I said before, they ARE easy to avoid (perhaps through a filter by the mods, but I'l let you guys figure out the best options) but more importantly: by the members as well!!

if you are easily offended by spam subjects and you feel personally attacked when you open a thread like that, just follow these guidelines:

do not open a thread if:

- it has a smiling smily as a thread emoticon

- and it is situated in the off-topic section

while this should be enough to avoid all spam threads, it might once in a while exclude a real thread, so here are some further 'tips' to prevent that from happening. Spam-threads can often be identified by:

- (not really) cryptic titles that cleary point to the spam-subjects

- double titles (same in title as in description)

- member names with lots of numbers in them

- it is the member's first post (and last as our fast mods kick them out as soon as the thread is discovered )

well, as long as there hasn't been any structural solution found, just use this guide and you'll never read those threads again

still my biggest complaint is that there are way too many of those threads now for atrain and richyu to write witty responses or to 'mod' the thread into some sort of surrealist fun

I've also found that usually, if you look in the spammer's profile, under "Minidisc units," it says the spammer's username.
