Sup, people. It's been a few months since I last transfered music onto my MZ-N707 Net MD walkman using Sonic Stage 3.4, which worked fine back then by the way. Now I find there's a new version of Sonic Stage, so I install the 4.0 and it gives me this, and then says "Omgjbox" has "performed an illegal operation and will be shutdown". However I heard the American version doesn't work for other countries, so I tried a Canadian version and the 3.4 version found on this site.. and nothing !!.

I have Windows 98. Can someone tell me what is happening and how I can fix this and make it work.

PS: I also tried using RealPlayer, but that didn't work out either. Simply didn't "find" the device. :(

I'm doing some research myself to find out what the problem/solution might be...

In the meantime, I like your avatar pic... reminds me of some of my abstract photography (for example, my avatar) :)

EDIT: You may have to reinstall/update MDAC in it's entirety... Let me see what I can find out though,.

Thanks! Any help would be appreicated. I found a handful of topics on this using google, and as far as I know It's been given a cold shoulder. I don't think anyone found a solution yet.

Have you tried uninstalling 4.0 completely and following the FAQ here to get all the remnants out?

http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=8071

Then install 3.4 again with this:

http://forums.minidisc.org/downloads/details.php?file=21

And if you still get the same error, try the MDAC repair tool one more time.

No guarantee that it will work, but it's worth a try.

Just uninstalled it using the FAQ, installed 3.4 from here and re-used the MDAC repair tool, I still get the same error. However I tried the "Database problems with Sonicstage" solution" in the FAQ but ran into a couple dead-ends.
