deadwing
..would you expect a Duracell batery to last??Reason I'm asking is that I got one Greenmachines excellent battery boxes back in June and I nearly had a disaster recording a concert last week when I got no volume at all on the support band- checked the battery and it was flat as a pancake!! Didn't have a spare with me, so I went with REALLY low mic volume in the mic input and it came out not too bad, but I know how great it would have sounded with the box in fully working order!!I've left the battery plugged into the box connectors ever since I got the box- does that drain it even when there is no other connection? greenmachine
Sorry, i should have told you to unplug either the mic or the battery itself to avoid constant drain. If you connect it just when needed, it will last a long time, approximately 500-1000 hours with a high capacity alkaline. The power consumption of the mics is very low [about 0.5-1 mA], so if you use it one hour per day average for example, it should still last well over one year. A440
It seems like what he's saying is that just leaving the batteries in the box--with no mic connected--continued to drain them. I hope that's not true. My understanding was that all you have to do is unplug the mic. Shouldn't that break the circuit and stop the battery draining? My Mic Madness battery module has to be taken apart with a screwdriver every time the batteries are removed, so obviously they don't expect you to take out the batteries between session. I used it a few times a week for six months before having to replace the batteries. Edited September 20, 2006 by A440

I'll check before leaving home next time!!!
