I want to buy Rh1,but seem like the internal battery will not last very long. And if I use it to record,it can only have eight hours at 256 kbps, then need to recharge again. In this inconveniece ,I am difficult to decide on to buy it or not buy it.

If there an external battery pack selling ?

But searching the web I have not find one.

There are several external battery packs which will power or re-charge the RH1. Please review this thread:

I do not know anything about mechanics? Then I think I cannot able to replace myself(without damaging the player)THerefore I think external battery pack can do this purpose, when the internal battery die.

I also wonder do I need extra budget to buy a sony mic when recording in RH1?

Does the internal mic have enough quality, will it pick up internal drive voice like some HD player? If it is enough ,I rather not bother to buy a mic.

The supplied battery is meant to be replaceable. It's just as easy as replacing any standard battery, it is not built into the recorder in any way (no need to disassemble the unit or anything like that).

There is no built-in mic, you will need to purchase an external one. The member greenmachine here in the forums makes great affordable mics - http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=14388

The rechargeable battery is meant to be taken out, you can swap out an rh1 battery faster than you can on your tv remote. Thats how easy it is, no mechanics required.

To prove how easy it is, i can take it out and put it back in in about 1.5 seconds.
