No need to panic, had the same problem plenty of times, reboot your pc, and load up CP again, if all your songs are there, then all good, if not reimport, then hook up the A3000 again, let it sync with CP and your files will work again. Use the latest version of CP, it is much more stable, I know, since it has yet to hang up on me when I used it this time around, where as it used to hang up on me all the time before. You can check that your songs are on the unit, but opening windows explorer and then clicking the A3000 removeable hard drive, the songs should be there in OMA format.I thinK software couldn`t load the songs on the player because it crashed dring transffering & Player(A3000) MIGHT HAVE DELETED ALL THE SONGS FROM IT .the player won't delete the files from the hdd by itself, it needs the command from you to do that. 0 chriswyatt
Where do you find update.exe, I've looked in Program Files and Documents and Settings and can't see it anywhere. I've also got version 1.0.02.11170 and the update entry in the help menu doesn't seem to do anything. 0 jof
stugei was actually thinking about that as my next step. if cp update fails to fix my issues, i shall give it a try.....nice
0 Ascariss
When you run it, the update should begin downloading, if that doesn't work, try the other exe files in the directory, that should get hte update running, if not then this isn't the fault of the program, it would have to be your OS sadly since the autoupdate has always worked for me and CP runs now more like clockwork, albiet slow, but with no problems.in contrast while downloading some podcasts last night using itunes, my pc was rather sluggish, but with CP open and even transferring files, no such issue. 0 jof
hi ascarissi kinda expected that comment - but i have a spanking new pc etc so it is very unlikely to be OS.I have updated directly from Sony site and have at least managed to copy the majority of songs back to unit - but not all.i am not even going to start asking why for now..think i will leave it lie and gather some energy b4 I address that issue...
