npod
I have a HI-MD MZ-RH910 that I make live recordings with using a mic. I am able to record onto the disk and my computer recognizes the recorder once it is plugged in with USB. When I open sonicstage, the program does not recognize the recorder. This happened suddenly the other day. It worked one minute, then the next minute I had this problem. Sonicstage does recognize the recorder if I insert a net-md disk into it. However once I record onto that same disk Sonicstage can no longer recognize the disk. I have installed sonicstage 4.2, and formatted the disks, and talked to sony's help service (those people knew less than me!), but still no luck. Any ideas? brippy21
I have the same problem. As soon as I installed 4.2, my laptop does not detect my recorder. It does recognize a usb connected but it can't seem to get the correct driver for it. I wonder if it is a software bug or a windows problem??? I have a MZ-N910. It's really frustrating as I have tried to install and re-install numerous times in 3 different laptops and they all show the same freakin problem!!!!!! npod
Fixed!Control Panel> System> hardware tab> "Device Manager" Using the device manager Expand USB controllers>Right click USB mass storage device>Uninstall. Then restarted the computer. During restart the computer automatically re-installs the device. I had the same problem with my printer a few months ago. Periodically I have to reinstall the printer using the same method. I suspect one of the auto-updates is causing this issue. I'm running XP with all the updates and service packs available. So the problem was with my computer's USB connection and not Sonicstage or the recorder. Hope this helps.
