bluecrab
There seem to be numerous web sites in Japan where one could buy the Sony MXD-D400 deck. Of course, they are all in Japanese, so that's a bit of a hurdle. Here's an example:http://esearch.rakuten.co.jp/rms/sd/esearc...;sitem=mxd-d400I'm willing to do a certain amount of work to get one of these (excluding traveling, I mean), but I'd like to know if what I'm seeing is actually there? These are still being sold in Japan? Do they have English displays? Can they be used on North American 110v current? Thanks for any help at all! Richard
I'm not an expert on this model, but I recommend getting a price quote from PriceJapan who specialize in exporting Japanese products overseas. I suspect the display would be in English, but the manuals in Japanese. You would also likely need a power transformer to convert the US 110V to 100V as most (if not all) Japanese decks are 100V input only.* Moved to Find Your Minidisc

I did in fact get a quote from pricejapan and asked about the display, but they responded only with the quote. The manual's no problem as I already have a US version of the MXD-D400 and I would think the English-language manual would pretty much work. I also think the transformer can be had for 25-30 USD w/in the U.S. My main concern is the display.Bruce Smith
