chojin
I've owned my MZ-NH700 for about a year and half now and it just doesn't seem to want to conserve its energy anymore. I'll charge it completely and have one battery bar on the screen missing after recording less that a minute of audio. I was using it to record quite a bit when i first got it but have just started trying to use it again and I'm having this problem. Any suggestions? If nothing can be done can somebody recommend something I can record with in stereo that will last longer than a year?ThanksEdit: Brand new Sony Ni-MH rechargeable batteries are drained as well. pata2001
You know, you can just buy some more AA batteries/rechargables.

Sparda
Would the NH700 happen to feature quickmode? If it does check to see if it is off. And if using new batteries don't fix the problem then I guess you need to start looking for your next one.
Sparky191
I bought my MZ-NH700 2nd hand a couple of years back. Still working fine. Your unit must be faulty. I've never seen anyone report that problem with a HiMD before.
Avrin
Try cleaning battery contacts in the unit - they are definitely a bit dirty and oxidized after a year of use. Be very careful, not to damage or break anything! Also, clean the batteries themselves before inserting. chojin
Thanks guys. I got it working. Not only did I clean the contacts, which didn't look dirty, I also blasted some air through the open lid to get anything that might be causing a short off of the circuit. I also blasted a bit of air through all of the inputs just in case.
