ok, so Ive been toying around with my recordings, and Ive taken some advice from here. Was just wondering if anyone here would listen to one of the shows or just a song from it and give me some feedback on here or just a review and rating on archive so I can maybe have some suggestions of what to do next. I already know that I need to get a battery box to power my mic so I can plug into Line In vs Mic In (which money is keeping me from doing at the time) but other than that any suggestions? http://www.archive.org/details/GJ2007_03_07 ive only got the first set up, but I think its one of my crispest recordings. and the band freakin rocks....if you love the jam bands these guys are one to check out..... aside from that though.... what about the recording...... ESPECIALLY tips on what you might do with the EQ as Im completly new with that

I don' think a battery box is necessary here with this low sensitivity mic unless you want to tape louder bands - I can't hear significant distortion - but there are AGC artifacts everywhere, which you can avoid by using a manual level setting. Low and high frequencies sound rather weak and the stereo image rather narrow, which are most likely limitations of the mic. Also, the whole recording sounds kind of out of phase, did you play with the phase in post processing or is it also a problem of the mic?

If you hav'n't got the instructions you can download them from the Sony website. I did this for a friend who had an RZ 70. Setting "Manual levels" is fiddly but essential for serious music recording.

I used to have that mic , Mid side , two positions , Set it at 120 , On the MD, manual Rec level , Mic Sensitivity low, Rec Level watch the meter and keep it 2-3db down from the peak at the loudest sounds, If you use the Auto Rec level , its going to be all over the place.

Go listen to this mp3 , done on the RH1 with an AT 822 , Taiko Drums ( doesnt get bigger than that ) in an enclosed room , explosive sound levels,

2006 I recorded that , and I couldve gotten it better but I wasnt paying attention enough to my levels

I thought you did those Taiko drums with the B10

No I did the School Chorus with the B10 , just down from the Taiko , there are two pics of the auditorium. one pic of the b10 on the chair, and the other with the Kids singing.

Which is why I was mad at myself , the kids were good and I should have ad the RH1 and the AT , that wouldve been nice
