Loubert
My Minidisc doesn't record. My MZ N505 has stopped to record. With SonyStage it records the songs, but I cannot listen : them. I can only listen 6 songs of 25 songs. I have proven to record with the optic cable, and I have not been able to record neither a song. I have reinstalled SonyStage and continuous the problem. What can I make? Thanks a lot.

SCMS = Serial Copy Management Systemno second copies
bobt
It could also be the wiring to the record head is getting flaky, my guess it's time to replace the unit befor it starts erasing your discs.Good luck,Bob
raintheory
I'm with bobt on this one, we've seen this many, many times here. What happens is the ribbon cable that connects to the reading/recording head starts to break from wear and tear and all sorts of issues can arise... The worst being erased discs. There are ways to repair the cable, and they have been described here before, but for a N505 it would hardly be worth the effort.
