boojum
I am trying to learnthis stuff as quickly as I can but have stumbled across some info on a board which states that phantom power can be handled through the three wire XLR type connectors. For the unbalanced two wire, as I have, the remote or bias power of a 9 volt is what I need. Is this right?

Thanks for the info. ;o)I had a good freind named Don Nance , he is a guitar amp builder ( ALL tubes baby) but he built also one of the nicest Mic preamps( tube of course) A little expensive but that thing sounded good , real good I wish he was on this board but he became a hermit , and has basically no contact with the outer world , he lives on a mountain in North Carolina now . But he would make some serious money here
boojum
Tubes as a subject is an entirely new thread, and we do not want to go there. They are an anethema to me. Bob Carver proved the falacy of tubes to Stereophile and picked up $10,000 those ninnies thought they would never have to part with.
