Can I record from the PC to Minidisc and then play back on a normal MD player

The best way to to that would be to record from the line out of the PC to the MD in SP mode then it will play on any player

There is an option in SonicStage to transfer in "SP Compatibility" mode. This will play in any unit, but there is some debate over whether the quality is closer to LP2 (~132kbps) rather than true SP (~292kbps).

I dont mind if it is slightly less quality... does the SP compatibility mode work will all players, and does it still transfer at 32x, as I dont need it if it just does it at real time.. Thanks for all your help

It is actually slow compared to other sspeeds, probably at about 1/2 time or so.

Been using it to record for my car deck, but quality seems ok to these old ears.

It should work with any player, yes.

It definitely transfers faster than realtime.. but of all of the possibilities via SonicStage, it is the slowest.

it is at lp2 quality and it is at something like .6 times speed. it is very slow 50 mins for an 80 minute disk. they play in all players.
