skampy
Hi,Let me explain:At school we're using professional MD to record our radio broadcasts. But let's say we want to edit something on the computer. We have to upload it in real-time (the recorded broadcasts are about 1h audio), then edit, and then we have to transfer it back to MD. On the professional decks, this can only be done in real-time mode. THis would take an extra hour to transfer. Now, I have a portable Hi-MD recorder (NH900). Download through usb works well with MD Simple Burner (For some reason, Sonicstage is giving errors). But I have to record it to standard format (old MD), so no LP or Hi-MD mode. But even in the NetMD format I can only choose LP2 or LP4 mode. Is there any way I can download from pc (using usb) to standard MD mode? Thanks! raintheory
You can choose "SP Compatibility Mode" in SonicStage. There is some debate regarding the quality however. Some say it is only LP2 quality because SonicStage Lacks an SP codec. What errors do you get with SonicStage/what version are you using? skampy
Version 4.x Some message regarding the omgjbox or sth. Just browsed through the forum and I've read similar problems from other users. Really sucks ,I can't even add or remove mp3 from my Sony mp3 player. About the SP compability: that would be handy, sound quality doesn't have to be top notch. As long as it's compatible. Now if I just can get SS to work...Thanks for the quick reaction! raintheory
No problem! If you're using 4.3 you may want to uninstall it and install 4.2 instead. A few ppl have had issues with 4.3Also if you are running any skinning programs like windowblinds that will cause a problem. skampy
hehe, I was using 4.2. Just updated to 4.3 and it works! no errors! And I noticed the transfer works in both ways, so I thought I had to try that (upload from MD), but that doesn't work, because they were "recorded by NetMD or on another computer". So i guess that has sth. to do with copy protection, right?Strange how a simple update can fix that. Last time I used SS (couple of months ago) I was so pissed I never looked at it again. But now it seems to work. Let's hope it stays that way. Thanks for the help!
raintheory
Hey whatever works! Unfortunately there is only one unit made that will upload those older discs, the MZ-RH1. Your unit will upload anything recorded by it using mic/line-in, but only Hi-SP/Hi-LP/PCM recordings, not SP/LP2/LP4/etc.
skampy
I see. That's interesting. Means I can't upload our radio recordings, but I can upload the recordings "in the field", when I'm interviewing, as I usually record them in PCM to ensure the highest quality.edit: just succesfully uploaded 26 mins. of PCM audio to WAV in about 7-10 mins.
