A440
Just remember to use the DS70P on its extension cord. If you sit it directly on the MD unit, you'll pick up the sound of the disc spinning and you'll also put unnecessary strain on the mic jack (from the weight and leverage of the microphone rather than a little plug). horace
I recently bought one of these mics on ebay - paid the grand sum of £8 including postage.I'm rather suspicious that it might be a fake - ebay is awash with very cheap DS70Ps. Perhaps a batch escaped from the back door of the factory?Having said that, fake or not, the mic I received is very well made and makes excellent speech recordings.Does anyone know if there are fake DS70Ps about and how to identify them? Could there be another explanation for the large number of these mics selling cheap on ebay?CheersMartin

Bullet1979
It doesn't look like they are "fake," however the auctions mention they are from bulk - meaning they are shipped without packaging and most documentation/accessories. They are being sold as just the microphone and a different cable than what normally comes with the microphone if bought as manufactured. At worst, if they're not brand spankin' new, they could be refurbished - which honestly isn't as bad as the term has led people to think.
