MP3s on Hi-MD

I've had a little search about and read a few topics and not found an answer to this - I have a load of MP3 files that I've gotten from various sources (but have no DRM on them). I was wondering if I can copy the MP3s over in their current format to my MZ-NH700 MD unit or do they have to be converted by SonicStage to ATRAC format? I can't try it just yet as still waiting for the player to arrive (Damn UK postal strikes! :aggressive: ) just asking in advance!

I'm guessing as well if I turn the DRM off I could in theory put the music on another computer or device if I wanted to as well?

Cheers! :D

Thanks for the welcome/advice Sparky and Bobt! :D

Glad that conversion won't degrade the quality (but I guess that depends on what ATRAC bitrate I use).

I seem to be collecting MDs pretty quickly already - also got a MZ-E909 and MZ-R500 on the way too! :P

He said you won't notice it. Not that it doesn't degrade the SQ. Because it does.
