underwerk
Hello everybody.Another newbie to this forum here.Anyway, I was shopping around on various sites for a new MZ-RH1, when I encountered this: a slightly more expensive version, called the MZ-RH1B.EU8That was a first, how exciting!http://clickok.se/CBC.aspx?q=c:36135;desc:...0b25;ps:50;pi:2(scroll way down)But the excitement faded when I failed to find any information on this particular model.I only found reference to the MZ-RH1B on this forum, where the 'B' was believed to represent color. So, is this perhaps the black European version? Are there supposed to be any versions besides RH1 at all?It seems that when I Google this product code, I get a lot of hits on eastern European and French sites. Can anyone shed some light on this?Excellent forum by the way. My humble thanks.
raintheory
Well the RH1 I got here in the states is black. Not sure if the B designates color or not./
underwerk
Swift reply! Thanks. My last was also black, bought in Sweden.Do you know where the silver version was sold?Japan only? The prices on these models actually do not differ by much, around 4 dollars.I suppose that you will not get any fancy upgrade for that kind of money.(Sigh!) bobt
Hi There, The EU could stand for European Union, and could be a volume capped unit. All I can think of at this late hour. What would the price be in Euros, or dollars??Take care,Bob
Richard
The EU in the model number is indeed for the European model and B does designate the color - in this case black. The silver was only available in Japan. As Bob says the only difference between the EU model and the model sold in the other markets was that the volume output was capped to 4.5mW vs. 5mW on the others. Avrin
Checked the packaging of both my RH1s. Both have the EU8 lettering above the bar code, and both are black [former] eurocapped units. On the other hand, my European RH910 has EE8 above the bar code, and the European NH600 has just EE there.EDIT. Just saw a photo at an online auction. The packaging of a black Japanese RH10 has J4 above the bar code. Edited January 2, 2008 by Avrin
