greatBOx
Hi,everyone. My n10 just got a ridiculous problem. When I linked the md with pc using the usb cable, the system tray popped up a notice saying "usb device not recognized"(pic 1). Under the usb controller section of the device manager, there was an "unknown device" tag(pic 2). I also found the main screen and the remote controller screen appeared a notice of "PC>>MD", however, the Sonicstage didn't find the md device out after I opened it. After I unplugged the usb cable, the notice of PC>>MD still remained on both screens, I had to turn off the switch on the back of recorder to sotp it. My os is winxp and the version of SS is 4.3(pic 3).I had thought it might be my system incompatible with the software,so I re-installed my os, the new environment should be perfect to the rigorous Sony's software;I did install all of the necessary files and drives which were from this site.I also tried installing the older 1.5 verison, however, nothing changed.Has anyone got any ideas or suggestions to sovle the problem and let the md work properly? Thanks in advance.
Strungup
4.3 is for Vista , if your on XP use 4.2 after that , maybe the USB connector in the Md has an issue
greatBOx
Is there any chance to fix the issue? Dose the issue belong to hardware or software? I hope it only relates to the system drive.
Strungup
uninstall 4.3 ( all the way down to registry level , clean out everything Sony ) then defrag your drive , after that download 4.2 and install it .when you connect your MD after installing the software , make sure your connected to the internet ( XP will search for any missing or corrupted drivers )
Syrius
GFX, 4.2 is nowhere to be found. The link on the downloads section give me a 404 error. I had to use 4.3 on my XP computer. Anybody still have the full installer?

greatBOx
Hi,Guitarfxr. The problem still remains here. Why did it always say the drive could not be recognized? As I already installed all of necessary drives. I'm really exhausted to the problem and totally disappointed in the recorder. I decided just leave it alone. Anyway, thanks for your suggestions.
