RockyJ
Any easy way to check mics to get them close to same output. I'm getting tired of losing so much editing room because my mics are 6db off.Is soldering and testing the only way. Anyone come up with a good jig? greenmachine
It has been suggested to measure their resistance and match that, but that's not a reliable way them in my experience. You'll have to actually connect, run a few test signals through them and compare their output. If you solder or find another way to temporarily connect them is up to you. Also, the capsules can change their characteristics if too much heat is applied (by soldering or otherwise), so even a previously perfectly matched pair can become bad if you're not careful. These tiny things are really susceptible. Use a heat sink or cool otherwise.
