obsideo
So.... haven't been around for a while, largely because I've not been using the MD much the past year or two. I became frustrated with record settings, clumsy uploading after buying several units which always got closer but never quite there over the past 8 years. But I just bought the RH1 (and MZ200 actually that I got a smoking deal on) and I have to say this may FINALLY be the player/recorder I wanted from the beginning. I've not been in SonicStage for quite some time and I'm noticing that the RH1 can now pass recordings back and forth at will and seems to move MP3s without conversion (and they sound pretty good)... Is this the result of a new sonic stage, e.g. can my NH1 now do all of this, or no????And, I guess my biggest question is whether you folks think I ought to hang onto to the NH1 (considering hte answers to the other questions) or if I can sell it without regret. It was "almost" the player I wanted and the build quality still seems slightly better than the RH1 .... Thoughts. I know I know... I've browsed the forums for a good 30 minutes now and I know most of the answers I seek are here but I like conversation.
Strungup
Well the NH1 will never do what the RH1 does , It is a limited directional street with that machine .But the NH1 will always be a good standby player / recorder that doesnt need to upload , I practically never upload anything unless it is specific to a purpose . My discs , stay discs ,............ Plus there is always Real time input to fix a not so good recording , by using an effects processor such as a Compressor /Limiter for peak control , then in the computer you can raise the rec levels of the software , and get a " Hotter " Recording(Statement corrected) Edited June 4, 2008 by Guitarfxr
raintheory
The NH1 does upload, but only Hi-MD recordings (RH1/M200 will upload most legacy recordings as well). And it won't playback Mp3 natively, only the 2nd and 3rd gen Hi-MD units do that.
