greenmachine
A lower quality like LP2 will introduce even more artifacts.

greenmachine
Why not try both and let your ears decide?

A few years ago MP3 was just the fascination of being ABLE to shrink a file and still listen to it , sound quality had very little to do with it . Now the Coding has gotten much better , but still .......... ATRAC will sort out its OWN frequency pattern when recording WHATEVER is coming into it , and a lot of related noise in an MP3 is seen as just that Noise , and ATRAC filters some of it out . ( I have had this experience on MANY occasions , where a not so great MP3 sounded a LOT better after I recorded it on my MD , Playing back thru my digital monitors A-> B comparison of both , I could here the difference ( we are talking 128 kbs mp3 here , your at 256 so dont worry about it)
