Silly35
Hello there!Sorry if this thread has been already discuss but i cannot find anything about this. And I don't know if I do put this topic in MD or Hi-MD section.I recently bought a Sony MDS-JB930 Deck and I'm very happy with it. But a strange history happens today:I would like to record some CD with anti-copy system on MD and then transfer them to my PC.So i take an MD and put in my Deck and see what happened :The deck display "Hi-MD disc" !!! The disc was not empty and have tracks in Hi-SP mode.Have someone noticed this before?
Strungup
All MD's will do that , HI MD doesnt go into a Regular MD deck , so a Warning display is given to Tell you it is a Hi MD disc
sinus
The same happens when you put a MDLP disc into a SP-only unit. they call it "stamp". in the case of hi-md the inventors just built that feature into the standard I think. Silly35
Ok! thanks for quick answer. So, has Sony implemented a code in the TOC or somewhat else in the disc to warning users? Is it like the GDROM of Dreamcast : when you insert one of these in a CDROM player it displays a text file who tell you it is a GDROM and it can be damage your CDROM player.
