I just bought some Etymotic ER6i headphones and I am loving the mids and highs but the lows dissapointed me a bit so i started searching and the best way to up that bass was to get an amp. what type of amp do you guys suggest to get with these headphones?

I was looking at the CMoy amps and they seem to do a good job as anyone had any experience with these or recommend me a good portable amp for these phones.

Sorry, I can't advise you about amps, but can I suggest that if you have an adjustable equaliser on your player, you give this a try first.

I find with my ER6s that they sound terrible on the Normal setting, but OK if I have the settings as follows (from left to right):

100Hz: +3

250Hz: +2

630Hz: Flat

1.6kHz: -2

4kHz: -1

10kHz: Flat

If you do get an amp, I'd be interested to hear which one, and how much difference it makes.

The Etymotics do need a little more power , they were designed originally as in ear monitors for stage use . and that means coming from a Headphone driver with pro level power

Consumer phones are designed to use a LOT less power to achieve a moderate frequency spectrum.

with the Amp you will hear HUGE differences in details with those phones.
