gabgar
I have a PS3. Granted at the moment, I do not have it plugged up to my Analog A/V Receiver (since I just thought about this here at work) but was curious to know if anyone has ripped an Audio CD in their PS3 in Atrac 352Kbps and then listen to see if they could dell a difference from their minidisc player?I will probably try this later during the weekend when I have a chance to see how this may turn out...(and compare this to the sound of the MDS-JB930) Edited November 18, 2008 by gabgar
kino170878
I think the 352kps Atrac rate for CD ripping is only available in Sonicstage....

You can rip a CD in Sonicstage in WAV, Atrac advanced Lossless @ 352kps or Atrac3plus @ 352kps. I would probably rip at WAV or Advanced Lossless and then transfer to HiMD.JP
Levanel
Have you tried doing this with a PS2?I've done this before and the audio is crap (via toslink).. sounds slightly on par with MDLP's LP4..
THIS SUCKS
all mp3 is lossy. including 320k...
gabgar
all mp3 is lossy. including 320k...so the best thing to do is to rip the CD on windows as wave lossless?Or would you rather opt to record directly from a CD player (optical) to the MD for the best sound quality? THIS SUCKS
if you are using a non hi-md unit then you should use the optical output and record that way you can get sp 292k. it wil sound almost perfect. you will not be able to tell the difference from the original
