Hi All,

Have been a MD user for may years and have a rather old (but fully functional) MDX-CA790 in may current car. I want to be able to connect my i-pod and through other searches found a unilink PC7-100 adapter, which is supposed to make the head unit believe that a CD Changer is connected which then allows the aux-in (which is used for the CD audio-in) to be used via a normal minijack-to-phono lead. I bought one of these but it's been rather unsuccessful; only seems to work when the ignition is on, but car not running. as soon as you actually start the car the only function that becomes available is the radio - not even the MD!!

Anyhow, the point of this post is to ask if anyone knows of a Sony (or other) MDLP compatible MD/ Radio that has a stand alone aux-in that does not need to have a data-bus cable attached to make it think it does ;0(

I've tried google but can't seem to find what I'm looking for...

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Ah, I know (I think) what's wrong with your setup. Maybe we can discuss offline. I recall this from numerous adventures hooking different things to my car.

Send me a PM, we can publish the findings here when we are done.

Hi All...

All fixed..

sfbp sugested swapping the yellow and red power wires from the header unit - these are the only two that have a mid-line conector before the iso conector - and it worked.

For those who are interested in the gadget I bought here is a link to it - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SONY-UNILINK-CAR-AUD...%3A1|240%3A1318 -

So far the problem seems to have been sorted but if it plays up again I'll update this thread..

Take care all
