sfbp
In a word, no. This is classic for a broken ribbon cable connecting the overwrite head. If you are nimble and used to soldering electronics, you might be able to fix it. Other than that, you should be able to pick up lots of second hand MDLP recorders on Ebay. sfbp
All of it. You need to follow the link where it says "to fix it". Sorry for being terse (you'll have to look that word up). Do you need to understand MDLP (link here? Do you know about Ebay? (http://www.ebay.com) Keep asking questions - we will manage to explain to you somehow. Chinakey
a tiny problem. almost SONY MD players (from R900 TO N10 as I known) have this typical problem. to solve is easy. you have to find some brass wires, make sure it's enough long (about 8CM ) and soft ,then find electric iron; use the brass wires insead of the ribbon cable to dilivery the data. the soft wire will make sure the moving head action no long a threat.
