Sony MDS-JB980 compatibility

I want to buy a minidisc recorder Sony MDS-JB980 from a site in Latvia (LV).

Can someone tell me if there are compatibility problems when used in Italy?

Thanks

I think you need to know the power supply in both places. Isn't Italy 220V? As long as Latvia is, too you should be fine. Now I think about it, I am not sure that a 110V version of this was ever made - my own runs off a transformer 110->230V. So should be fine.

I wish you good luck with your transaction, as it is an excellent unit IMO. Can you be covered by Paypal guarantee?

Thank you very much Stephen for your reply.

Yes in Italy the power supply is 220V, but I don't know were I can verify the Volts in Latvia's unit (manual guide?? what language??)

I have already a SONY Minidisc deck MDS-JB930 but it can not be connect with pc, so I want to buy the MDS-JB980.

I will verify in Sony site and with the client site

I hope that it will be a good purchase.

Bye

If you *only* want the 980 for PC compatibility, I would forget it and say get an RH1, then move disks from one machine to the other. It (the 980) was the first NetMD deck, and the transfer is not very fast, sadly. I like the way you can turn on/off the USB with a button though, appeals to my controlling nature :)

If you want the 980 to make really good MDLP recordings (the 930 doesn't do MDLP) that's a different matter. All sorts of nice features like easy control of input and output levels, too.
