RED SHIFT1
Ok, I am recording some old lps onto the PC using an old Microsoft program I found years ago. Works fine, execpt that any sound that comes thru the speakers (called the Stereo Mix on the program I use) will also recorded. So I am trying to record and import cds at the same time with SS. The only problem I am having is the "beeping" SS makes when it finishes importing. It gets recorded along with the lp! Don't want that. I have cut off the System Sounds in Windows Xp using the Control Panel, but it does not seem to affect SS. Can I cut off this beeping? sfbp
I have wondered about this many times. Here it is (in Sonic Stage V a pointer got moved into the registry but in 4.3 it must be hard coded): ..\<sonicstage main dir>\Data\Image\se\complete.wav I have not experimented with it, so can give you no recipe for disabling it without anything crashing. The most foolproof way might be to substitute a wav file that has silence in it. I generally gave up because I find that SonicStage is picky about timing, and I tend not to run other things when I am uploading (into the PC). I hope I haven't enabled you to find a whole bunch of new ways to crash our least favourite favourite music manager

I tried WMP 11 and the main problem I have is that if I try to import a cd-r that has say, 10 songs by Band A and 10 songs by Band B, there is no way I can find to import seperately...I have to put all 20 under Band A or B. SS lets me do that several ways.
sfbp
Aw go on, give it a whirl! Just make sure you know how to put it back As far as Windows Media Player goes, I find it can be used to organise my ATRAC files quite nicely, as long as I use the playlist feature (which exists also in SS, to be fair).
