0 silvermark
Well, I bit the bullet today and headed over to Sony Store Canada to buy my new E005F It's everything I expected... excellent battery capability, excellent looks, excellent sound quality with my Shure E4Cs. I have to say, navigation is also very impressive for a one line device. It's intuitive and easy to use.I tired MP3 File Manager and guess what, it didn't work. When I tried to play my MP3s it kept on saying "CANNOT PLAY" for every track. I tried all sorts of bitrates. Then I tried SonicStage CP and all worked well!Oh well, not too bad I guess. File transfer was fast with SonicStage, not too big of a deal. Edited May 27, 2006 by silvermark

0 Guest Stuge
may i know which bit rate of atrac is nicer?which one has the same quality with mp3 192kbps?off topic .At higer bitrates you won`t be able to make out the difference b/w Atrac & Mp3 ..It`s obvious Atrac 352kpbs is nices but it takes up lot of space ..so recommened bitate is Atrac 3 Plus 192kpbs . 0 MDX-400
thanx for the info.but does that mean that this player cannot play mp3s directly? No, it can play MP3s natively, it just can't use MP3FM. They really need to get an updated version of MP3FM out!
0 Sling
You could try Vaio Music Transfer instead. It uses a simple drag and drop interface.http://www.vaio-link.com/Vaiopocket/downlo...l=en&f=VMTUIt will transfer mp3s to the E series and convert wma to atrac and then transfer them. It won't accept aac though. You still need SonicStage installed for Vaio Music Transfer to work.
0 cbx103
thanx for the update - can anyone confirm that this (see above) works?
0 rhadamanthus
No, it doesn't. It gives an error message when you attempt to transfer MP3 files using the VAIO music transfer application, at least on my UK model NW-E002F.
