discoinferno70 Posted January 7, 2011 Report Share Posted January 7, 2011 hi, i'm starting to use a laptop in my work as a mobile DJ. it's a modest machine and i'm using a programme called Traktor V1.6 it's happy reading music files from memory sticks or MP3 players, it will even read MP3s that i've put onto mini-discs, which was encouraging. what i'd like to do is use it with the huge library of music i already have on mini-disc, which are in, i guess, the 'open MG' file format - but it just won't do it. the software manufacturers help file gives a list of what it will read and these are not on it, so is that all there is to say? any chance of a patch or something that will make it work? thanks, A. The only way to play music that's on a HiMD through your laptop is WHILE it's connected to the USB. Using Sonic Stage. Don't even get me started on how you will only be able to upload the files on your HiMD's if they were either recorded there, or downloaded from the PC on which you want to upload them to. FCT would have saved you. You may be interested in the linux-minidisc project which despite its name is a cross platform effort to solve these kinds of silly problems. There will be a player for files on MD, I'm working on it myself. So far there are versions for Windows, Linux of various kinds, Mac OS. It WILL allow you to upload most things from your HiMD's.
