cyberstasz
Hi all, Does anyone know if Sony is still manufacturing the MZ-M200 or if the new units still available for sale are just old stock? The way Sony works today I would bet the building has been torn down and rebuilt to make accessories for the iPod! If they are just old stock I suppose it is time to purchase a few of those units. Most people make decisions to buy on quality, sound reproduction, ease of use etc, etc. This is the first time I have heard some one worried about old stock and moving over to an entirely different product without any idea of quality and performance. Good luck!

Pretty sure all production has been long shut down, since you can't buy an MZ-M200 from Sony. But what do I know.
Bwil
Go ahead and grab a unit or two. It's a great machine, and I've already got a spare. The idea of no more new machines is sad, though. Maybe I'll buy another spare to make myself feel better!
Odyssey
Obviously you know the M200 is a great machine, even with SONY adding "PROFESSIONAL QUALITY" to it. Supposedly SONY was aiming at the Commercial market, but I guess they did not count on us. There are a lot of us using and happy with the MD machines. An extra machine is not a bad idea but make sure you have some extra discs to support it as well. Keep those MDs spinning ...
Azureal
I have one RH1 which I have used nearly every day for two years (the silver one) and I have one black RH1 and an M200 still brand new in the box!!! I was trying to find a picture I took last year or the year before of my new unopened blank collection. I have 150 or so unused blanks and at least another 100 used. I hope I can last for a while.
