Luke Short
Hey all, All I'd like to do, is record audio via the mic input on my MZ-NH700, and then find a way of getting that onto my PC in either WAV or MP3 format. I've been reading post after post on here, but it looks like that's an almost impossible task? I've just installed this version of SonicStage: SonicStage : 4.3.01.14050 SonicStage Add-on for Personal Audio Download : 4.3.01.14050 OpenMG Secure Module : 4.7.00.12140 MagicGate Memory Stick Device : 4.7.00.12140 NW-E2, NW-E3, NW-E5 and NW-E8P : 4.7.00.12140 OpenMG CD : 4.7.00.12140 M.S. PRO : 4.7.00.12140 CD Walkman : 4.7.00.12140 ATRAC Audio Device with Intelligent function : 4.7.00.12140 Hi-MD : 4.7.00.12140 Music Clip, NW-S4, NW-E7 and NW-E10 : 4.7.00.12140 ATRAC Audio Device : 4.7.00.12140 Net MD : 4.7.00.12140 EMD Plug-in: 4.3.01.14020 CD-R Writing Module(Audio CD/ATRAC CD/MP3 CD) : 4.3.01.14050 Px Engine: 3.4.36.500 But when I try and transfer the files recorded on MD, it transfers them, then says "Cannot convert to WAV file" and leaves me with a .oma file buried in F:\Documents and Settings\All Users\SonicStage\Packages Any help or suggestions anyone? Cheers, Luke.
sfbp
Will look later, just going out. Meantime try looking at the directories set up in configuration. Likely one of them doesn't exist or is not writable by your logged on user. Sony always said that an Administrator should be logged on to run Sonic Stage. I prefer to keep my files NOT under the Documents and Settings Tree The fact that you are on F: makes me wonder what kind of setup you have. I am sure SS is expecting to put it in C: Back later... sfbp
Did you solve this? Looks like maybe everything works fine but you needed to have the destination set. a. you can right-click the oma file in SonicStage and choose where you want to send it (after the fact) or.. b. set up the destination for conversion to WAV in the menu... Look here: Tools->Options->Transfer->HiMD (Transfer Settings->Advanced->Location). The last window is hard to find and probably points somewhere that doesn't exist, currently. Or you can disable the automatic conversion to WAV by unchecking the box just above the "LocatIon" field you just found, and doing the conversion as in a. above. I assume you recorded in HiSP (or PCM or Hi-LP) - because if you recorded in "legacy" modes (SP, LP2, LP4, Mono) then you would not have been able to get the .oma file on the computer.
