MZ-R30 Blanking discs when writing TOC!

I typically don't do any recording or editing or anything that would alter the TOC with my R30, preferring to do all that with my JE520 deck at home. It was slow at work today and out of boredom I decided to title the tacks on a "mixtape" I made. Once the TOC write was finished everything seemed fine, but after the disc was removed and re-inserted the screen flashed "BLANKDISC" and I had lost my entire mix! Thinking I had a corrupt disc I tried this with three other MDs with the same result. Any action that requires a TOC write results in the disc being erased entirely. As I said it has been a long time since I have tried to do any TOC actions with the R30, using it more as a player but I have done it a long time ago and this did not happen, so the unit was not always having this problem. I always keep the R30 stable and on a flat surface when writing TOC and I never remove the disc until it's done. Anyone have any idea what's going on?
