Help!

I've recently upgraded to new PC with Win 7 64 bit OS. I've installed 4.3 SonicStage Ultimate software from this site but driver doesn't seem to be correct. Device manager does not display player, though it did with 3.4 install. 3.4 did work for a couple of uploads using 3.4 then stopped working. After several uninstall/reinstalls later of 3.4 and 4.3 to get to work, device isn't recognized (doesn't show anywhere in system). I've tried many usb ports, I removed device in device manager. When I try to start fresh and unistall device and software, Sony software still remains in Programs folder and driver seems to still be there as when Win 7 tries to download latest driver from Sony site, it says driver already exists. How do I totally remove software and driver? What version is compatible with Win 7 64 bit? Any clue as to why device is not being recognized (I've assumed it's a driver issue). I have dozens of live recordings of my own bands I really need to offload and would appreciate any help on this.

thanks to any who can help!

You need to read and understand the thread on Win64 support, and download the 64-bit driver in the downloads section.

This is not for the faint of heart...... sorry. There are many questions we need to ask and I don't really have time to deal with this one today. Here's a start:

1. What MD machine are you trying to connect? Can you see it in Sonic Stage display?

2. In what format (bit rate) are the files you care about encoded?

3. Please describe in detail the last PC setup which worked.

4. Exactly which version of windows (bitness ie 32 or 64, level ie Home, Pro, Ultimate) are you using?

5. How exactly did you install Sonic Stage?

6. Can you play back files within Sonic Stage?

Good luck and welcome to our forums.
