Question

Hey guys

I know the NW-a1200 was recently released in the US for $199! and I am kinda confused to get it or not.

Should I get that player or wait for sony's new line of devices that are coming this fall?

Does anybody know when sony is planing to reveal their new player?

What is a good accesory case to buy for the A1200?

Is the pink color kinda girly? or should I go with the violet

Thanks

Wait.... or save for a Toshiba Gigabeat or.... Zune?... (sorry Sony' hardcore lovers!) I'm waiting for a new and improved Sony DAP...but there are good others DAP's in the market, and you maybe want to see how good is the Zune thing instead to get right now a Sony DAP.

Sony is still a good choice, i'm very glad with my HD-3, it works fine to me, but I really hope a new Sony release, a good one.

but, if you don't need a photo viewer (nice feature), video playing (for me... useless), medium storage capacity, the NWA-1200 is a great choice.... a few improvements since HD5, and a great sound, but read all the reviews about this player and the A3000, as far i read here, they have a building issues that you might be aware before you buy. My opinion is the same. Wait... wait for Sony's Next best thing, or go research about the huge DAP universe outside iPodville.

Wait. Everybody is moving to flash based, with 6-8GB nano looming. Small hard-drive DAPs are not worth it anymore, considering the reliability vs solid state memory. If you want one to get you by, get the zen micro instead. You should be able to find one at cheap price, and the 8GB zen micro photo can be found cheaper than the NW-A1200.

I've been in the same dilemma for a few months, and I absolutely didn't want to buy a Zen Micro because it's not UMS -- despite talking about SS so much, it's WMP that I hate to use and absolutely can't figure out for transfer to a portable player.

If you look back on the history of Sony HDD players, there's a fairly steady string of improvements. That means if there's anything you don't like about the A1200, chances are it'll come to Sony's attention and be fixed in whatever player that replaces the A1200.

I say if there's nothing that bothers you with the player, or you can shave $20-40 off the MSRP, go for it.

Seems to me that the new Sony players won't be arriving before, say, Halloween.

I had the same problem a few weeks ago.

I had always been using MD and wanted to try HDD based DAP's.

Ipod was no option for me. I doubted between the creative zen vision:M and the Iaudio X5, But the big colour screen didn't atract me and some other things.

so in the end I got myself a nw-a1200b and I think it's awsome! especially the sound quality, wich is the most important for me. It's all just my opinion, but the design is really sweet to!

the other day we where in school, and I was listening music and had the walkman lying on the table with screensaver on, so every now and then ther would appear a 'sprinkle' on the device. A friend of my sitting next to me (who has an ipod) said she got horny (if I can say that on this forum?? ) by looking to the device and see a sprinkle 'in' the device ('cause you can't see the screen).

but all in all, If you just want to listen music, the nw-a series is a very good choice! good sound, good battery, nice and most important original design (something many manufacturers find difficult to find these days) and good codec support!

imho it's the best DAP out there.
