Ive had my player since 1999 and its been great up until recently when its stopped reading discs.

I have been in contact with Technics and even they are struggling to find a repairer for me.

I am desperate to get this fixed. If its a common fault and something I can fix myself then please let me know, otherwise does anyone know to someone who would do the repair/service for me?

Appreciate any help with this as i do not want to throw the deck away.

Hi

Did you ever get this sorted?

I’ve had my MD player since early 2000. Worked fine over the years. Not used a great deal in recent years.

went to use it a while back....I insert a disc....seconds later it fires the disk back at me. Says No1 F15 on the display.

Im not an electrical person. I have opened it. I watch the disc get pulled in and immediately gets pushed back out. Hopefully it’s just a simple loading mechanism problem. I’ve tried my best to see if I can see anything but everything is so small and delicate along with the fact it’s a laser product. I live this unit. It’s too good to bin.

cheers

noel

Work it a little bit, inserting and ejecting the disc. It might just be a little bit sticky with inaction.

Cheers. I’ve done this over and over for the last few days....same response every time.

Hi,

I found this  depends whether you have any clean air aerosol and want to take the top off.

Given this was a working machine I’d expect something simple like dust or a hair (as we found on another thread) so I wouldn’t suggest pulling the machine about a lot.

According to the Service Manual that error means:

  • Error - F15
  • Symptom - Interval till MD starts playing is too long
  • Possible cause - Pickup home position sense switch (S8) is defective; check and replace if necessary

The part number is apparently RSP1A023-A

No idea if this is of any help?
