DSP Posted September 17, 2006 Report Share Posted September 17, 2006 I own a sony mz-n707 for almost 5 years now and it still plays very, ver wel and very, very long.It's truly the most trusty and loyal device I've ever owned.Do you people have such a device? a device that has never ever let you down, a device that's always fit and ready to serve you? A device that's soo damn old and in fact useless, but you just can't sell it or throw it away? tell it to me. Sound quality is ace, it's pretty robust, it's got good battery life.That said, I might try taking it mountain-biking. pata2001 Posted September 18, 2006 Report Share Posted September 18, 2006 My 32MB Rio PMP300 still works, aside from a loose battery cover, and the fact I don't remember where I put the parallel port cable adaptor. Beat that. I remember buying the optional remote for my Rio, Yeah baby, 32MB of music in my pocket, and I can control it via a remote! I also have an older Sony PCDP. Works fine, but it has problem reading CD-Rs and the LCD remote display is dying. As for Atrac devices, my NW-E3 is still in pristine condition (aside from some scratches on the LCD, body is metal), and my MZ-N510 still works fine and dandy too, considering it's my main unit to transfer music to MDs before HiMD came out. I found it at the bottom of a cupboard recently (hadnt touched it since 2002), stuffed in a couple of AAs and played a CD immediately. The sound quality is still impressive by today's standards. I wonder how many iPod owners could leave their iPod for 4 years and expect it to work ;-)I remember the battery life for the 330 was 24 hours (the best at the time). However, I routinely got over 40 hours with supermarket brand AAs ;-)In fact, I am tempted to go back to the old CDs and discman for the sound quality - has anyone gone back to their CD walkman after NW? So damn nice phone. And it has a MP3 player onboard, with reasonable SQ.
