Poor sound quality

Hello.

When I played ATRAC3 132kbps converted by Sonicstage 3.x on my old netMD it sounded really good. But now when I have my NWA-3000 and plays ATRAC3 132kbps converted by sonicstage CP it just sounds like a real stepback for the sony corporation. For example, when a song gets into a part where only one instrument has volume, it gets really loud (like 60-80% higher than the normal volume for that instrument). Another example, like when there is alot of crashcymbals in a song, its sort of gives an echo/reverb sound on them and sort of cuts them off in the end. Another example, like when a song has some low volume sounds, the new atracformat just cuts them out totally.

The good ol' netMD with its atrac3 132kbps was in soundquality with mp3 192, but this new one with this HD player doesnt even beat MP3 128kbps.

I really want to use ATRAC3 132 since the batterytime is worthless with the other codecs.

Anyone got a solution to this?

Sincerly

Jens

(yeah I have contacted the sony support, but there is a bigger chance that I'll reach Pluto with my homemade jetpack than getting a response from them)

Just saw that I posted in the PSP section. Can an admin transfer this to the sonicstage section?

I havent slept in 26hrs,

Sry for caused problems.

Thanks for the replies.

I tried converting into atrac 192 and 160 and it still sounds very bad. The echo/reverb is still there, the very low sounds in songs are still cut out and the mainproblem, the volume turns up like 70% when a single instrument is playing.

This makes me believe that my sonicstage or my hardware makes the conversion really bad, cause I cant believe that everyone has this huge problem with the converted files.

I think I'm gonna try degrade me to sonicstage 3.X and see if the same problems are still there.

(And most of my songs are in 320kbps MP3, so Its gonna take forever to convert them into 192 mp3. So thats not an option for me)

It might be a sound card problem or driver problem on your side, if the sound card is fine, update the sound driver and then retransfer. initialize the a3000 then rehook it up and transfer over a few 320 and 192.

then play them, next press option and scroll in the menu until you see detailed information then press the play button, it will tell you what format hte song is in. please check its still mp3.
