Question

First off hi all new to the forum and i hope someone can answer my questions

purchased the above player in the UK and am really impressed with it after performing the volume hack but have one or two niggles with it (questions).

1. If i am playing music and press pause the player turns it self off in under 30 seconds is there any way to extend the time before power down as i find myself constantly having to turn it back on which i feel uses more power.

2. Is there anyway of stopping the artist link button from turning on the player as when it is in my pocket it keeps getting accidentally turned on.

3. after installing the connect software which i got on quite well with using full sync to keep the Walkman up to date with the PC, i found i had to format my PC thus losing my library on the PC, is there anyway to back the software settings up on the PC so that after reinstalling windows and connect software everything matches again instead of losing everything.

thx a lot dazzer12

I don't have an A1000 nor have I used one really but here's some stabs at the problems, lol...

1. I don't think so, I'm not sure but I think someone asked something similar before and the answer was no.

2. Isn't there a "HOLD" slide switch on the unit?

3. I'm not sure about the old Connect Player but versions of SS including SSCP are hit and miss for things working afterwards, from what I know. If you use the Asia-Pacific version of SS then you should be okay once you re-install everything. I know that using the AP version of SS on an entirely different computer seems to give no problems recognising the device, transferring etc., so a reinstall using that should be okay. No guarantees though :(

1. It is in the settings menu, under display. Go to settings in the home menu (bottom left) and it's under display time in the display menu.

The max time is 60 secs but IMO thats overkill, I even think that 15secs is too much.

2. You have to put the hold on before the player turns off. That way when it is off and you bump it, it doesn't turn on.

You gotta hold the "hold" button until it says "hold on", and then just wait for the player to turn off.

3. I dunno about this cos whenever i format, i copy the music i need onto my other hard drive and keep as many of the files on cds as possible. That means after i format i can just copy them back on (i format like twice a month).

I think its a good practice.

Hope this helps.
