A3000 - System Error No. 032

Question

Hey all,

I've been enjoying my A3000 for a few months now, but have become really frustrated with it in the past 2 weeks. I've had to re-initialize the player 3 times (and what looks like a fourth). I originally thought it was related to transferring while in the dock, thinking the connection was maybe a bit precarious. The dock has been relegated to charging and passing line out to my mixer.

But just now, while plugged into one of my primary USB ports the player did it's thing again. I end up left with the message:

Sorry, there is a system error (no. 032)

From here I usually reset the player, re-initialize the disk, then re-transfer a dozen gigs of tunes. The first time it happened I saw it as a blessing in disguise to get my tunes well organized, but at the 4th time in 2 weeks I'm starting to lose my patience for this player.

Any suggestions?

Does that message appear in SS or on the device itself?

Strangely enough the System Errors for these devices are never described in the service manuals! I know that one of the errors is AC adapter/DC-input overvoltage (as I learned on one of my HD3s before I had a switching adapter, lol) but I can't remember what number it was. I don't think it was 32 though.

If the message is on the player itself and the problem persists I can only think you have a hardware problem, and your A3000 requires repair/replacement :(

Hi I had the same problem with my sony NW-A3000 I pluged it into my laptop the got error code 32 on the unit. Then it wouldnt turn off or do anything SO ! using computer logic I unpluged the battery ! left it for about 30seconds, reconeted the battery and guess what , it rebooted up perfectly and is now working perfect again. To do this you must first remove the small round silver walkman symble on the back using a very small bladed knife, under this is a very samll screw remove screw, now pry off the back cover againg using a small knife, once open on the left you will see two wires from battery going into a small white conector ( red and black wires may be covered by black tape ) unplug whit conector WAIT 30 seconds then just reconect and refit back plate. now unit should reboot as normal. j hope this has been useful
