Question

hi, im new to the forums and was wondering about what iswrong with my a3000.

ive had it since last christmas and it has v3.00 firmware on it and im using sonicstage cp to transfer new songs to it, but at the moment the player is not recognised as everytime i plug the player to the computer it displays the error message;

"Cannot use intelligent features because the connected atrac audio device does not have the updated database. Disconnect and connec the device again to update the database or change the setting not to use intelligent features.

(Error code 000066d6)

now if i do this it says that my atrac player is unsupported. also the player does not have any track on it and will tells me on the screen "no database found please connect complient software"

can anybody help me with this? can it be fixed without sonys help or is it completely borked? the player itself is great and has worked ok for the past 11+ months ive been using it

thx in advance and sorryif this has been aked before, i did search the forums but couldnt see anything :):excl:

thx for the reply

im using sonicstage cp version 4 i think, ive been using it since it was released and have had no problems in the past with it, its just the damn mp3 player messing around.

how do you mean formatting it? i thought that if it was formatted it would take the firmware off and then it would just be a glorified datastick :blink:

In my experience, this issue occurred when updating SonicStage from a non-Connect Store version to a Connect Store version. For example, I once upgraded my own Canadian version of SonicStage (which at the time had no Connect Store service), to the American SonicStage which does have the Connect Store. I was required to format my player.
