kerfuffle
It's possible - if you rename the Genre in the song file's tag.

pata2001
Right click on the track, choose properties, and you can change the genre to anything you want. If you want to remove it, just leave it blank.
Dansco
Thanx for the reply but I meant actually delete the genres from the list not from each song.
kerfuffle
Ooh! I think I know - in Album view, for some reason, the old genres still appear. You have to rename them while in Album view, then you can get rid of the genre you want to get rid of.

kerfuffle
Sure. When you're in the Album view (on the left hand side), you can sort by Artist, Album, Genre, or Date Imported. Select Sort by Genre, then under the Quick Search, look to see if the Genre you want to get rid of is there. If there is, right click on the Album, select Properties, then change the Genre to one of your choice. Do that for each album that has the same Genre you want to get rid of. Then when you refresh the screen, the Genre shouldn't be listed in the Quick Search on the left hand side of the screen.Hope that works. pata2001
I see what he tried to do. That is assuming you don't have any music with the genre you don't want, or you choose to delete or change the genre you don't want to something else. navsimpson
I dunno if this is what you mean, but if you simply want to remove genre from what you can see on the screen, then right click on that top bar where it says 'Album', 'Artist', 'Genre' etc and a little list will pop-up with check marks next to it. Uncheck genre and it will be gone from the list. -Nav
