Turning off the NW-S205?

I have a question about the sony nw-s205 2gb player before I go and buy it. I was reading some cnet comments and some guy said you can't turn off the player. Is this true? I used to own an iRiver and when I turned off the player, it would go into sleep mode draining battery, which I didn't like. So for the NW-S205, when you turn it off, does it fully turn off (does not use battery)? Or does it go into sleep mode?

Also, does MP3 File Manager work with this device?

well, i believe it's the same as the 407. I don think that battery will be drained that fast in the sleep mode.

Regarding about the sleep mode, what I meant to say was, does the player fully turn off when you turn it off? Or when you turn it off, it goes into sleep mode, so that it boots up faster when you turn it on again.

I think (I don't have one, so I can't say for sure), that if you stop the song you're playing, and do nothing, it will turn off within a preset time e.g. thirty seconds.

The guy probably said that he couldn't turn off the player 'cause he couldn't find a 'off' button, or didn't read the manual properly. *shrugs*

@katakonik:Most of the Sony Flashbased players cannot be turned off.If you are not playing a song they will simply go in Sleep mode.

So what program works with the NW-S205? I remember back when I had a NW-E407, MP3 File Manager was much better than the SonicStage software.

Sony devices still uses SonicStage ,but now SonicStage 4.2 is much better than the previous versions

I don't think Mp3 File manager works with NW-S205.

but you can use this other clone called voidmp3fm... i am using it with my s203f... it does hz some bugs.. usually screws up some sngs while transferin... but works 95% of the times flawlessly.......

I have the afoementioned Sony Flash player and I believe it does sleep. However-it a distinction without a difference because it use very very little battery-mille amps- and the battery is very robust. I really like this device a lot. So sleep state is a non-issue.
