Sony NWE003F 1Gb walkman's FM Radio is not working

THe FM radio feature is not working in my sony nwe003f series. THe device

Unable to catch any frequency. please give me the solutions for this.

well this is a very strange problem and first of all make sure that the player battery is working properly and u have charged it to full before using fm. if u r able to play mp3 normally on the player. well i suggest that u soft reset it by advanced menu>intialize>reset all settings and then u r player will return to normal. and then u can try setting fmauto preset and make sure that u r headphones are working properly and u are not in a very close bulding try moving outside to see weather u can catch any channels .well scan the fm stations using scanshigh. it is powerfull mode of scaning and then if u r player is not bad or malfunction it should detect all stations. otherwise u should change it.

im curious of where u have purchased this player. cuz japanese models have different frequencies than most parts of the world, therefore the FM on a japanese model would be useless anywhere outside Japan

Make sure that the earphones a plugged properly as they work as anettna(Sp?).If the problem persists ,then contact Soy service center regarding this issue.

yes.thanks for pointing some of the things that may cuase not funtioning my sonynw003f FM radio. i purchased it in U.S new mexico one year back.

Currently i am able to play mp3 audio. The FM radio problem is started since 2 weeks back.

As per your suggestions, i followed all those steps, but still the problem persists.

Currently i am in india. so can i change this piece under exchange offer here in india ?

please let me know the info. regarding this .

Maybe your location (India) has something to do with this? I'm not sure about reception in other countries but it has already been pointed out that units sold in Japan have radios that will only work in that country. Does anyone know if a radio for a unit built in the US would work in India?

well i think u r mp3 player nwe003 has been used up completely ur its battery had gotten weak well i have nwe005f my uncle send me from usa and it tooks every single fm station in pak about 9 stations it has picked up with no problem. and very clear reeception os i think the unit sold in usa is compatible with all the countries. well ur unit need to be serviced. or try reset it. or make sure that u have firmware 2.01 installed on it for more powerfull functions...
