Will the Sony NWE015 re-encode my MP3s?

I ripped all the music from my collection of CDs and when I transfer it over to the player with Sonic Stage, it seems a bit on the slow side. Is the player attempting to re-encode my music? If so, how do I stop this from happening? I don't want to compromise audio quality!

Simply set transferring mode/setting to "transfer as is". This will transfer MP3 as MP3, AAC as AAC and ATRAC as ATRAC, etc; thus no transcoding.

At times SonicStage can seem slow when importing MP3 files. SonicStage will build a library of your music files. This information that will be included will be the location of the file on your hard drive. Also, a rating system. From what I understand SonicStage will not optimize your library or transcode your MP3 to ATRAC unless you specify it to.

Please make the changes to the setting in SonicStage as Zizone has suggested before transferring your music to your NW-E015.
