divyen90
Ok so I have a A806 and my SonicStage is rubbish, it gives me this when I try to recognise my device:http://img124.imageshack.us/img124/4115/grrfr1.jpgNow I can use Vaio Music Transfer to get songs onto my player but not delete them... this is my problem and I need some sort of way to do this. I've tried many things, ml_sony, void etc. So could anyone help me delete songs / fix the sonicstage error? Much appreciated!
Shinji Ikeda
I have a question about your computer. Is your computer a non-brand name or recently upgraded? On the NW-A800 series Walkman you can tag a track for deletion using the pop up menu. This may be a work around for on when using Vaio Music Transfer. divyen90
Nope, my Sony Vaio has never been upgraded - about a year and a half old. I assume you're talking about tagging them to go into the trash? If I do this, when are these tracks actually deleted? When I next connect my Walkman to my PC? Thanks. RoGeR-atrac
I know this may be silly, but are you using the preloaded Sonicstage on your Vaio PC or did you upgrade to the latest 4.3?
divyen90
I'm using the one I got on the disk when I purchased the player.and... my player has just frozen! I pressed reset 3 times but it doesn't seem to be working!
pomj
I have this: http://www.atraclife.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2178 on my player all the time for deleting tracks and downloading to any computer.

pomj
Thanks but for some reason, when it scans for my device, it can't find it. Is it compatible with the A Series?Yes it works great with my NW-A808, but note that I think you have to have it on your player. My setup is like this: I use sonicstage at home and at work. On the player in a folder I have vaio musictransfer for loading the player when I'm on the move and NWE00xMp3FileManager for deleting files or downloading to any computer (do not try to upload music with it because it will corrupt your player database). Works great for me.
pomj
UPDATE: It is not possible to use NWE00xMp3FileManager to delete files. If you delete files and update the player, The players database gets corrupt. However you can use it to download songs to any computer. You can use SWEx to delete files without corrupting the database *but* you loose any playlists you have on the payer...So to conclude my findings:mp3filemanager, voidmp3fm and NWE00xMp3FileManager corrupts The database if you try to use it to load or delete songs from The player.VaioMusicTransfer is great for loading The player when you are on The go. No problem at all in XP and I've got it to work (with drag and drop) in vista too. But I don't know *what* I did to make it work... Puts The player in simple mode but playlists are untouched.SWEx. You can use it to upload and delete files BUT it puts The player in simple mode *and* you will loose any playlist on The player. Further if you tries to download any songs you get it with The OMA wrapper and The database number instead of a filename. A little inconvenient ... NWE00xMp3FileManager is great for downloading songs to The computer. So you'll need VaioMusicTransfer, NWE00xMp3FileManager and SWEx to cover all eventualities when your on The go.
