Sonic Stage Compression Help

I recently purchased a new NW-E003F and need some help compressing my files. I convert my files to ATRACplus(352bit) or something like that, then i go to "Lossless Compression" and it gives me some error?! Even after converting i tried "Saving to WAV" but that does not work either. I am at a loss and would really appreciate it if someone would be kind enough to help me out. I really want to save more than the 200 MP3 files it lets me, i want the 695 ATRAC it says fits! So please help me out. Take care and thanks for reading my post.

I am sorry but are you trying to convert ATRAC3plus to ATRAC Advanced Lossess or from CD to ATRAC Advanced Lossless?

Beause there is no point in trying to convert ATRAC3plus to ATRAC Advanced Lossess since only there will be no sound quality improvement and bigger size; this is because ATRAC3plus is lossy format while ATRAC Advanced Lossless is not lossy.

If you are trying to convert files from CD to ATRAC Advanced Lossless then yeah you will have CD sound quality with smaller file size. But, it is important to note that ATRAC Advanced Lossless play back is only supported by NW-S700 and NW-A800 series only (oh and computer). Is this where you get error message?

Well if I understand you correctly, I think that what you are doing is sort of a lost cause, seeing as how the player you have does not support lossless. However, you can convert the files directly to ATRAC3PULUS, which has great sound quality and an even smaller file size than mp3. I remember in my old sony NW walkman was 2 gb and I could fit around 100 songs in atrac. Even though the sound quality was less than perfect, I found the bass was highs were better than Mp3 at 128kb/s, the only thing lacking were the mid-tones.

But keep in mind that this is all from personal experience, so personally I would reccomend that you compress your files rather than trying to get the best sound quality on a device with 1-2 gb of space.
