Sony nw-a8xx series and nwz-a81x firmware source code

According to this topic over at anythingbutipod.com, the A8XX series runs on linux 2.6.10 kernel derivative. Can anybody use the source code to modify the firmware to support WMP11? Just a thought.

If somebody can look at the source code for nwz-a818, maybe they can modify the source code for nw-a808 to support mtp file transfer and drag-and-drop also. Anybody capable of doing that?

Yeah, funny thing is I was the one who found the link. And it turns out those are NOT the source codes for the firmware, but only for the tools Sony used to create the firmware.

I tested that on my older A1000, and couldn't get the firmware out of it :/

could someone with the ability to come up with a solution please work on one, or work on a plug in for WMP that lets u transfer songs.
