The CPF-NW001 does have a WM-port, i'll order one today, and let you all know if it works.

thanks guys.

:D

Hi - was just wandering whether you'd received it yet, and if so, does it work well with the X-Series, as I'm also interested in a dock for mine and this one is meant to be very good. If you have got it and its working well, where did you order yours from (I'm assuming you're from the UK)? Thanks

I'm from the UK, and i tried ordering it from here: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller...G&A=details

there was a problem with ordering it, and i didn't want to risk leaving my money in limbo so i cancelled it.

it's a discontinued model as far as i'm aware, so my local Sony shop don't and won't stock it.

I'm looking to just get the dock at the moment, the problem with some of the Sony products is although they have the quality, they are just a little overpriced.

and what's more, the dock means i can use that otherwise pointless slot thing that comes in the x series box.

Again, i'm struggling to get hold of one of them, but i'll try and get back here as soon as i do:)

You can try NWU-BCR5 but not NWU-BCR3. They look the same but the width of the slot for the player is not wide enough on NWU-BCR3.

https://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores...552921665369128

It's price is high but it comes with a charger, which can be used with the cradle or can be used separately for traveling.

I nearly bought one, and i've decided i won't invest in one until sony fix a new found problem: it won't read playlists, unless they're from WMP11!

pathetic if you ask me.

This bug is new to me. So the only way to create plalists is through WMP 11 for the Walman X? Content Transfer won't work?

BCR-NWU5 working is definitely good news, but yeah for some reason it just says no to any iTunes playlist i try to drag.

I've got the most up to date content transfer, and iTunes, and it does not work.

sorry guys.

:S

not happy, and also, i'm going a little off topic:S

Using playlists from itunes which are transferred with Content Transfer works for me

bob123, since mr. el is having problems, I was wondering what version of iTunes you are running? I see there is another post abt. there being an issue with iTunes 8.2 for some (or all?) playlists.

I've actually asked Sony why it won't accept playlists from iTunes

this was the reply:

Thank you for your recent e-mail received on 04/07/2009 11.37 PM.

I am sorry to learn of the difficulties that you are currently experiencing with your Sony NWZ-X1060.

In response to your e-mail, I can confirm that the Sony NWZ-X1060 is not compatible with iTunes for importing purposes.

This product will accept DRM-free songs that were purchased from iTunes. However, it will not support the use of iTunes for importing purposes. This was not an advertised feature of this product.

guys, i asked them why it won't accept playlists, and to be honest, this isn't exactly crystal clear

it would seem we're stuck to using WMP11 and wma files only if we want playlists:S

Songbird says that it supports asx. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.asx), and doesn't mention anything else.

maybe i've got a dodgy player <_<

Content transfer seems to accept drag n drop of songs and playlists from iTunes if the version of iTunes is 8.0 or 8.1. If you have itunes 8.2 then it doesn't work. I know this because my work computer had itunes 8.0 and my home pc had itunes 8.1. both accepted drag n drop via content transfer from itunes.

But when I updated my work pc to itunes 8.2 it wouldn't work. apparently apple is aware of people piggy backing on itunes and so changed some things to prevent it with 8.2.
