Hey all,

Can someone tell me the differences between the two models? I know the CAN/US models arent out yet but for those of you that are waiting theyll be out real soon by the end of the month.

The only difference i know is the remote where the Japanese one has 2 line display while the US/CAN is only a single line...can someone tell me how much of a drawback it is having only 1 line display? is it much easier to use 2 line display to operate and editing functions?

If you guys know of any other differences could you let me know?

Hi, I own a Japanese version and these are the differences:

- Remote (high-resolution display, capable of two lines of text.)

Only when showing both the disc-title en track-title it will use the double line. When editing, it will use a single line..

- Power adapter

Unlike the world model which has a 100-240v adapter, the Japanese has a 100v only adapter. (I use it with a 220 to 100 transformer)

- Manual and software

Cheers, Aad

Oh i see...thanks for the info

i wonder why the US model didnt go along with the two line display. Seems like a good feature to have although if its only for showing the disc disc and title name like you said and not anything else i guess its not all that important. So is the actual models for the remotes different? and would it just be in terms of the display and not the other functions such as editing, remote layout and such?

ALso, im not sure but i dont think that the US/CAN model will come in grey...only silver

Hmm. I *think* the remote LAYOUT is the same. But it is a different model. As, it won't beable to display kanji.

Furthermore, the earphones *should* be different. I believe the Jap N10 came with the 838 earphones. Usually MD players in Canada come with the crappiest earfones (802 i believe ...?)

Also, there might be accessories different. For the N1, i don't believe it came with that little pouch to carry the player.

...
